Conceived and directed by flamenco legend Farruquito, Los Farruco sees four members of his family – his mother La Farruca, brother Farru, aunt La Faraona and cousin Barullo – join together in a celebration of traditional gypsy flamenco.
The Farruquito family are the Royals of the flamenco world - and can trace their flamenco roots back through more than six generations. In Spain, a performance by Los Farruco is always greeted with much excitement and standing ovations from the audience.
The four dancers demonstrate gypsy flamenco at its very best - bursting into a scuffle of toe tips, heels, long hair, acrobatic turns and take-offs. The younger generations follow in Farruquito’s footsteps, being renowned for their acrobatic turns and fast, furious footwork.

Rafael Amargo is a young flamenco bailaor with a great trajectory behind him. He knows the purest essences of flamenco well, but at the same time he is a daring bailaor with the desire and ability to do new things, especially as a choreographer, the facet in which he claims that he is most comfortable.
Rafael meets the stereotype of the flamenco dancer. He is tall, muscly and very sexy. He dances like a dream in a way that brings flamenco firmly in to the 21st century while managing to preserve the traditional structure of the dance and, most importantly, its spirit.
He is considered a national treasure. The Spanish national daily newspaper 'El Mundo' described him as “having drunk from the fountains of the most pure flamenco...” He has assimilated a multitude of influences into his genre of flamenco to produce something that it totally traditional and yet thoroughly of today. At 25, he has arrived, according to another daily, 'El Pais,' at the point of being considered one of the most promising flamenco talents to have emerged in many years. This is praise indeed since rarely do 25 year olds figure as major talents in flamenco.
*Please notice the Sat/Sun classes are in the Covent Garden Studio and the Mon class is in the King’s Cross Studio.
Comments from previous special courses:
"I just wanted to say thanks for arranging Eduardo's workshop!!
Yes, this was a great experience and after seeing his show at
Sadler's Wells, it seemed even more precious of being taught by
a wonderful dancer!! Please bring him back to London for another
workshop, or I don't mind going over to Spain to take his classes!!"
