BIOGRAPHY: -Antonio Canales was born in 1961 in the Triana neighborhood of Seville. He came from a family of artists, which steered his life toward dancing from an early age. He began his formal studies at the National Ballet of Spain, where he was able to work as a soloist, deciding later to make the leap to Paris. In that city, Canales joined the company of Maguy Marin, which opened the doors for him to the world of dance on an international level. At this point, Canales had become an international dance celebrity.
He has shared the stage with figures of the category of Nureyev, Peter Schaufuss, Sylvie Guillem and Julio Bocca. In 1992 he set up his own company, and appeared for the first time at the World Financial Center in New York to mark the Fifth Centenary of the Discovery of America. His show 'Torero' was nominated for an Emmy award in 1995. El Maestro Canales was awarded the National Dance Award in 1995.
Aside from his somewhat stormy personal life, Antonio Canales’ almost unlimited creativity and versatility has helped make him an emblematic figure in the history of Spanish dance and flamenco.
We are very proud an excited to learn with El Maestro.

The Farruquito family are the Royals of the flamenco world - and can trace their flamenco roots back through more than six generations. In Spain, a performance by Los Farruco is always greeted with much excitement and standing ovations from the audience.

Rafael Amargo is a young flamenco bailaor with a great trajectory behind him. He knows the purest essences of flamenco well, but at the same time he is a daring bailaor with the desire and ability to do new things, especially as a choreographer, the facet in which he claims that he is most comfortable.
Rafael meets the stereotype of the flamenco dancer. He is tall, muscly and very sexy. He dances like a dream in a way that brings flamenco firmly in to the 21st century while managing to preserve the traditional structure of the dance and, most importantly, its spirit.
He is considered a national treasure. The Spanish national daily newspaper 'El Mundo' described him as “having drunk from the fountains of the most pure flamenco...” He has assimilated a multitude of influences into his genre of flamenco to produce something that it totally traditional and yet thoroughly of today. At 25, he has arrived, according to another daily, 'El Pais,' at the point of being considered one of the most promising flamenco talents to have emerged in many years. This is praise indeed since rarely do 25 year olds figure as major talents in flamenco.
Rafael Amargo currently is in London directing a new West End Musical "El Zorro"
We are very happy to have the privileged of having Rafael teaching workshops for Ilusion Flamenca school.
