Amanda Frescura is a graduate of the Royal Ballet School where her studies included classical Spanish dance.  She danced with the Royal Ballet Company for several years before embarking on a second career at University where, after gaining two degrees, she lectured and researched in anatomy and physiology at Medical School. During this time she discovered Flamenco and began attending workshops and summer schools in Spain. She decided to return to dancing full-time as a freelance teacher after gaining professional teaching qualifications with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing to Licentiate level with Distinction.
She has taught Ballet and Flamenco at Bath University, Dance Academy South West Bristol, Elmhurst School of Dance, Birmingham, D&B Performing Arts School, south east London and in Stroud, near Gloucester where she has been teaching flamenco for several years.  She has run Flamenco dance workshops for schools and at Arts centres and has many years dance teaching experience with children, teenagers and adults from complete beginners to more experienced levels.

Amanda has danced with the Bristol-based flamenco group Calima at many venues in the south west of England and in Wales including the Bristol Harbour Festival, the Watershed Latin Film Festival, the Ashton Court Festival, Komedia Performing Arts space in Bath, Stroud Performing Arts Space and many restaurants and clubs in Bristol, Bath, Cheltenham, Exeter, Cardiff, Birmingham and Abergavenny, and has danced with the Ilusion Flamenca dance group in London.
